Wife and wife duo The Shandies find themselves at the mercy of the universe on their new single “Teach Me a Lesson.”
The Shandies share a unique chemistry on this wistful folk rock song. “Teach Me a Lesson” bounces along with springy guitars and a peppy drum line that belie the wistful lyrics.
“Our new single ‘Teach Me a Lesson’ is an alt-country/folk rock exploration of why we keep doing the same things and expecting different results,” explains lead singer Natalie Wlodarczyk. “The song came to me in the middle of the night as I was struggling to make sense of a challenging relationship – one that felt very familiar. I thought, ‘The universe is trying to teach me a lesson, and I get it wrong again and again.’ I woke up singing that line, and the rest of the song just fell out of my head.”
“Teach Me a Lesson” will be available on all streaming services tomorrow.
