You'll have a hard time finding a more brutal breakup song than the title track of Amelia Day's EP EGO TRIP. The album's genesis stems from a rapture after Day and her ex road tripped from LA to Nashville for Day to set up shop in Music City. As Day explained in our interview, that's when she learned who was really her ride-or-die. Hint: it's not the woman she accuses of being a fame-obsessed fake.

EGO TRIP finds Day flitting between genres, a color for every emotion. "Lady Los Angeles" and "GET OUT OF TOWN!" strike a unique balance between sunny pop grooves and overdriven guitar distortion. A little bit Sheryl Crow, a little bit honky-tonk croon, throw in some Garbage and No Doubt and you get an idea.

There's some gentle twang here for those who lean that way: "Margie" showcases Day's rich voice. Even as Day is ripping people multiple new ones, her joy in the act of singing is unmistakable – and magnetic. Even thought it wasn't her choice, Day left behind some serious dead weight, and we get to enjoy her discovering that on EGO TRIP.
