PREMIERE: Big Riverz Gets Us "Running"

Big Riverz, the trans-atlantic supergroup comprised of Rae Spoon, Sofia Hicks, and Sarah Danger, is back with a charming new single. The song is a power pop confection that underscores the power of reaching out to others when we feel the most vulnerable. The liquid bass line and propulsive drum beat stand in contrast to Spoon's light-hearted vocals and angular guitars – but the song has a more troubling origin.

"I wrote Running about my night terrors, it doesn't happen so much these days, but there was a time where it was pretty normal for me to be screaming in my sleep," explains Danger.

"Rae took the song next and found the light in it, and it ended up being a song about when we're sitting in the middle of terror/isolation and hope/connection. We hoped it could be a song for people with things they can't talk about, for whatever reason. Soundwise, it evolved from its first iteration as a dark blues track to sunbleached 90's slacker ease!"

The video's free-flowing behind-the-scenes footage emphasizes the trio's profound comfort with each other – the kind of bond that can carry us all through difficult times.

The single is available everywhere tomorrow, but you can listen to it exclusively right here.
