PREMIERE: Country Risqué Lives Up to Their Name on “Drove Me Crazy”

When a band declares itself “America’s riskiest country band,” you gotta take noticed. Led by singer-songwriters Miles Gordon and Daniel Bromfield, Country Risqué places a premium on a classic honky-tonk song and modern values.

The slinky honky-tonk groove of the song lets us know that Country Risqué means business right off the bat. As Gordon and Bromfield’s tale of debauchery gears up for lift-off, we know where the story will lead and eagerly anticipate it anyway. There’s swagger to spare here, an exciting preview of what’s to come.

“‘Drove Me Crazy’ started with a lyric: ‘First he drove me crazy, then he drove me home,'” explains Bromfield. “Country Risqué developed out of, and has been inspired by, stir-crazy ideas such as this.”

Their debut album Doe-Eyed Loverboys & Saints is to be released in early 2024 on Rocks in Your Head Records.
