PREMIERE: Kara Cole Emerges From "Black Cadillac"
Kara Cole brings us a story of trauma, survival, and the relentless will to live on her new song "Black Cadillac."

Kara Cole gave us a hopeful picture of transcending addiction on her EP Firefly. Her new single "Black Cadillac" and upcoming album gave us a broader picture of her experiences – and some of what it was she was running away from. "Black Cadillac" sets the stage with a buoyant groove that rapidly turns sinister as Cole recounts her steadfast focus on trauma and survival.
Cole, originally from Indianapolis, is recording her new album in Nashville. Kevin Nolan, Lainey Wilson's lead guitar player, is at the helm as producer while the rest of her band provides the musical foundation for Cole's raw but compassionate lyrics. She describes this song as a "heavy-hitter with the topic of childhood trauma and sexual abuse." Yet the song is about more than those experiences: it's also about finding the will to move forward – as emphasized by that relentless bass and Cole's soulful delivery.
Cole has shared the stage with artists like Ben Harper, Mason Jennings, the Oak Ridge Boys, and TopHouse – but it shouldn't be too long before she's headlining herself.
