  • Squeakie and Mya Byrne bring us a populist queer country anthem with "We're America Too." The rollicking '70s-infused melody pulls you along with its inexorable tide of righteousness. I'm very proud to feature the song on this year's edition of Sirius XM's Country Pride.
  • Joy Zimmerman comes around to the same idea with a more gentle approach on "Be the Reason." This is a song that encourages us to be our best in order to lift up those around us.
  • If you need a break from sincerity, Laura Jane Grace sneers at the commodification of pride with her searing anthem "Wearing Black."
  • Jordan Maye gets cowpunk with it on "Tear It Down." While the song is ostensibly about witnessing the demise of a beloved venue, it's really about ripping away the walls inside of ourselves that separate us from others.
  • Meanwhile, The Bootstrap Boys happily shrug off institutional encumbrance in "I Sang In Church." It's a cheery little ditty about following your own path and is as smart as it is catchy.
