River Westin Looks For a Guy Who’s “Sweet On Me”

Los Angeles’s River Westin excels at ethereal retro-style pop that feels as if his music floats between decades. Westin has cranked out a steady stream of singles over the summer, and “Sweet On Me” hits on Westin’s dapper romanticism.

“The track is inspired by nineties dreampop and like a lot of my songs takes a narrative approach with the lyrics,” Westin tells Rainbow Rodeo. “The song is like a snapshot of a night where you meet someone and think you could just give everything up and runaway with that person.”

The hypnotic song takes us into the mindset of that person — what else would you feel when you want to do the very gay thing of ruining your entire life on a whim?
