Rainbow Rodeo needs you. I (Rachel) have spent the last five years editing the zine and newsletter and calling on amazing writers to document the joy and resilience of this community.

However, I'm about to make some changes in my life that means I'll have less desk time to listen and review albums – so I need to hire more writers to maintain the quality you've come to expect from this project. That's why I'm hoping to get up to $300 a month in paid subscribers. Where's the money going?

• $100/month – hire a staff writer to write two reviews or one feature article a month
• $100/month – assign two reviews or one feature article to a contributor
• $45/month – web hosting, will include a premium podcast feed for subscribers
• $55/month – me. I have not yet paid myself for Rainbow Rodeo (in fact, I've spent quite a bit of my savings on it) and I think it's time I do!
