Lenny Zenith put out a profound album with He/Hymn, a power pop album dedicated to finding one's way. With his new video for "Partly Cloudy Dog," Zenith celebrates those kind gentle souls who have support him along his way.

Deeply influenced by his late sister Lulu's commitment to animals and her passion for rescuing dogs abandoned or deemed unwanted by their owners at shelters, Lenny wrote the song to shed light on the importance of adopting animals over purchasing them from pet stores or unregulated breeders.

Dogs have always been a significant part of my life. Their sweet unconditional love, playful companionship offered just what I needed when I felt most alone and often unlovable growing up as a trans kid. From my early childhood pets like the calm older mutt Coco and my grandfather’s mischievous mixed breed Poopie, to ultimately adopting the energetic Catahoula 'Roxy' in New Orleans with my then girlfriend (now wife), dogs have always had a special place in my melancholy heart.
My sister Lulu, was a dedicated rescuer of greyhounds, and her love for animals inspired my song “Partly Cloudy Dog”. She instilled a belief that rescuing dogs was and is crucial. Her motto was always 'adopt don't shop'. After her tragic passing, I helped bring her last greyhound, Sugar, to my grieving mother, who has always found comfort in dogs, including her beloved pit bull Nikki among others. Though owning a dog in NYC is difficult, I enjoy visits from my dear friend James’ dog Levon, who also produced 'He/Hymn' (James, not the dog).
