At long last, Julie Nolen returns to the studio with her newest single "Love Me When I'm Leaving." It's been nine years since Nolen blessed us with Songs of Dignity & Grit – though she's been busy organizing plenty of queer country events across the South.

A co-write with longtime friend Mamie Lew, “Love Me When I’m Leaving” is a breakup song that burns slow and hits deep. It’s for anyone who’s ever been trapped in a cycle of empty promises, the kind of relationship where love only shows up when you’re halfway out the door. Nolen brings both dignity and grit to the song, though her classic country stylings bring astonishing beauty to the pain.

“This song is about divorce, breaking up, and that person who just won’t let go,” says Nolen. “It’s for the ones who keep trying to leave, and the ones who only know how to love in crisis.”

Stay tuned for a five-song EP in September, to be released right around Americanafest.

"Love Me When I'm Leaving" will be available on all streaming services tomorrow. Pre-save it HERE.
