LISTEN: Brian Falduto Hopes You "Run Wild"
On his new song "Run Wild," Brian Falduto delivers a heartfelt message to his inner child -- and to the rest of us.
Ahead of his new EP I Could Be Happy (out November 13), Brian Falduto gives us a heartfelt message to his younger self. With lyrics including “Is it too late for me to give you the life you never got to live?” and “it’s time to set you free to run wild, inner child,” the singer encourages his younger self and LGBTQ+ youths across the country to be themselves and follow their dreams with unwavering self-compassion, hope, and the courage to face every possibility.
On the song, Falduto inhabits the bass in his voice as he provides comfort to his inner child, channeling classic country singers of old while delivering a contemporary message.
"'Run Wild’ is the most personal song on the EP, my personal favorite, and the only solo write on the project. Much like some of the markers of my music career (“God Loves Me Too,” “Same Old Country Love Song”), it just kinda came to me," Falduto explains. "I wrote it over the course of three days while traveling solo upstate a few years ago, and it felt like one of those rare creative moments when I became a vessel for something that needed to be said, which is really my ultimate goal as an artist; to be open to those moments when they come."
Falduto is partnering with the national education organization Glisten to share this song’s message with queer youth. Glisten works to make schools safer for LGBTQ+ youth so that they can be their most authentic selves. You can support their work by checking out ways to give back HERE.
