PREMIERE: Jessye DeSilva Hounds the "Jackals"
On her new song "Jackals," Jessye DeSilva vents her transfemme rage with arena-ready vocals and moral authority.
Jessye DeSilva channels her inner arena rock star on "Jackals." As she describes it, she's in her "rage era," and the hard-driving rock'n'roll on her latest is a logical extension of her stunning album Glitter Up the Dark.
The song channels '90s alt-rock and the feminine rage that made it zip. (In fact, we spoke about this in Jessye's edition of our subscriber-only podcast Songs That Made Me Gay.)
For Transgender Awareness month this November, Jessye and her band will release the new single “Jackals.” Born of righteous rage and roaring electric guitars, her latest song (produced by Alex Calabrese) is a primal scream directed at TERFs and all those who would throw Trans people to the wolves for their own comfort or political expediency.
Jessye and her band will celebrate the release of “Jackals” with a Lizard Lounge (Cambridge, MA) show on November 5, 2026 with special guest Adi Sun opening. Get tickets here.
