HEY! LISTEN: Secret Emchy Society Opens the Gates to "Hallelujah Town"
Secret Emchy Society have never sounded better in their gothic tale of desire and isolation

Secret Emchy society swagger down the streets of "Hallelujah Town," their latest single from their forthcoming album Queen of Assholes. Emchy delivers her tale of disorientation and passion with rapid-fire aplomb and the band has never sounded better with its plodding groove of inevitability.
Co-written with longtime collaborators Mya Byrne and Marco Baroz, "Hallelujah Town" is a meditation on longing—the ache of searching for something better while drowning in the haze of yesterday’s mistakes. There’s a restless energy here, a tension between desire and defeat, between the impossible dream and the stark, hungover reality. It’s a song about fighting to find a way out of the isolation that grips us all, a fight that plays out with every languid note and yearning lyric.
Musically, Hallelujah Town is as rich and textured as the narrative it unfolds. Carolyn Mark’s mouth trumpet breathes life into the track with a haunting charm, while Jaxon Haldane’s musical saw slices through the gloom like a sharpened blade. Mya Byrne’s lap steel echoes back to honky tonk times gone by, and Tolan McNeil’s lead guitar cuts through the smoke like a knife—razor-sharp, fierce, and full of raw emotion.
Queen of Assholes will be out in June 2025
